Mount Ciremai in West Java is the highest

The first highest mountain is Ciremai. So Ciremai is in Kuningana, Cirebone and Majalengka. The height of Ciremai can reach 3,078 meters above sea level and is one of the active volcanoes. The peak is on the edge of the crater, where it is quite fine and wide.

For climbers, they can officially use four hiking trails. Each of them certainly has its own difficulties and conveniences. There are so many beauties that Ciremai offers. From the natural scenery to the beautiful situation.

Well, for climbers to understand which is the easiest to use track is the most difficult. Do not allow there to be a risk later, because you do not know the terrain used correctly. Thus, the most famous route in Ciremai is the Bapa Tere ascent and is one of the most unique mountain ascents on the island of Java.

Pangrango Second highest mountain in West Java

Another plateau that can be found in West Java is Pangrango. Thus, Pangrango has an altitude of about 3,019 meters above sea level, you can find it along the Bogor, Sukabumi and Cianjur routes.

It turns out that Pangrango is part of the Gede Pangrango National Park area and is actually guarded. The Mandalawangi Valley is located here, which is always a destination for tourists. In this valley you will see the beautiful expanse of Edelweis.

Being a tourist area where it was officially announced in 1980, Pangrango is often visited by tourists, especially climbers. Although many people love to climb, it turns out that the first person to set foot on top of Pangrang was not an Indonesian, but a German, C.G.C. Reinwardt or the founder of the Bogor Botanical Garden in 1819.

In 1977, Pangrango was successfully declared a UNESCO Biophysical Reserve, which made its name more known to tourists. Many climbers want to see the beauty of the Mandawalangi and Edelweis valleys scattered on this one plateau. Including being part of the highest mountain in West Java and occupying the number two position, it turns out that Pangrango was able to steal the attention of many visitors.

Many people outside of Java think that Pangrango and Gede become one part, although this is not right, since they are also located opposite. Pangrango is much taller compared to Mount Gede. But since the place is too close, it is often considered one name.

Well, as already mentioned, there is Mount Gede. Thus, this plateau is still located in the area of the Gede – Pangrang National Park. This mountain has an altitude of about 2,958 meters above sea level and is located opposite Pangung.

There are many interesting things on the Gede plateau, where several craters are still active. The craters are Wadon crater, Lanang crater, Ratu crater and a new crater. Well, there is an interesting place that always steals the attention of visitors when arriving at Mount Gede, namely Surya Kencana Square.

Do not imagine that Surya Kencana Square is the same as in some large cities or districts. In this square, you will be even more amazed by the view of the Edelweis trees, where there are quite a lot of them. But even so, climbers are advised not to take it just like that, and Edelweis, because it is also protected.

In addition  to  the many expanses of Edelweis on a mountain in West Java, it turns out that Surya Kencana Square is also often used as a camping site for climbers. So you can enjoy the expanse of Edelweis and feel the feeling of staying in a beautiful place.

Because it is one of the areas of the Gunung Gede Pangrangu National Park, so there is a lot of fauna where it is really protected. For example, Javan Gibbon, Lutung Surili, Leopard, Biul Slentek and many others. So the beauty of the mountain in West Java is still very well protected.

There is also Mount Cikuray, which has an altitude of 2,821 meters above sea level. This plateau has branches in the districts of Cikajang, Bayongbong and Dayeuh Manggung. The shape of the Cikuray is completely conical and inactive. When it is on top, you may know that the area is flat and not too large. Many climbers also came to Cikuray to enjoy the sunrise.   So many climbers say that the view of the sunrise in this one place is actually much more beautiful compared to the peson at the top of Papandayan. But the beauty is not in order, because the peak of Cikuray is quite dirty.

Cikuray is the fourth list of the highest mountains in West Java, but unfortunately, the peak is  really dirty due to vandalism by climbers, where it is less responsible. There are so many scribbles you could find when you’re at the top of the Cikuray plateau.

If you want to go on a hike, you can go through the Ciledug route, which is quite safer and official. If from Bandung, it is actually very easy to travel by public transport. You can also continue with city transport to get to the climbing gate.

Nevertheless, as a climber, it is strongly recommended not to commit vandalism or littering. It is much better if you retain the beauty of Cikuray by enjoying only the natural scenery.
